When to Rotate Your Tires in Michigan?

The Importance of Tire Rotation & Balancing in Michigan on Your VW

While an integral element of any routine maintenance appointment that you should have done on your Volkswagen, tire rotation and balancing can be easily overlooked when it comes to your checklist. Your tires need to be regularly rotated and balanced to ensure even wear, greater overall ride stability, and lessening the wear and tear on your vehicle. If you don’t do this, you’ll quickly run into an uneven ride while also needing to replace tires faster than you would normally expect to. If you want to schedule a tire rotation and balance as part of your regular maintenance, contact the Service Center at Thelen VW in Bay City, MI. We will be happy to make sure your tires are properly serviced so that you have the best ride possible in mid-Michigan

What are Tire Rotation and Balancing?

Tire Rotation – When you drive around town or the highway, your tires take varying levels of wear based on a variety of factors. Since this wear isn’t equal on all four wheels, different tires will wear faster than others. By rotating tires that show heavier signs of wear to the spots where tires have less wear and vice-versa, you get even wear across all four tires. This promotes a better ride, more reliable grip, and greater longevity for your set of tires going forward.

Tire Balancing – When your tires and the wheels they are fitted to are imbalanced, your Volkswagen’s suspension starts to feel the differing forces. As a result, you may start to experience vibrations even when you’re driving down a straight road. If left unchecked, this can cause damage to your vehicle’s suspension. By placing little weights on tire-wheel assemblies that are determined to be imbalanced, you and your vehicle will appreciate the immediate smoothness that comes as a result of the service.
