Standard RWD models of the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 are equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle of the SUV. AWD models gain another electric motor on the front axle to not only provide greater handling capabilities, but also generate 295 horsepower. New for the baseline Standard trim is a 62-kWh battery that offers an estimated mileage range of 208 miles on a single charge. The Pro trim reintroduces the previously standard 82 kWh battery for an estimated mileage range of 275 miles.
